This gorgeous young lady is a quarter horse and comes in that lovely grullo grulla coloring with no white markings. She is bred for speed, mixed with that is a bit of arena, and good old ranch working cow lines. We hope one day she will make some pretty babies for those who want a little extra speed like the barrel racers, or crossed over on our stallion to ad a little more speed to their cow horses.
Her dam is very athletic and has done everything from dressage to cutting and roping. Her sire a good ranch using horse who was a blue roan. With two black based parents this mare could possibly be homozygous for the black gene. Her grandsire Snipper Music was extremely cowy and was considered to be a grullo roan quarter horse. Next line off pedigree above you will find the names of Three Bars, Hollywood Gold and Leo to name a few. This young lady has been given the barn name of Legacy not only from some of the names in her bloodlines but mostly because she is all legs, Legacy should mature at aprox 16 hands, 1100 pounds, shes going to be big and fast. She has beautiful gaits and has lots of speed when she needs it too, she can really cover the ground. As a long yearling this filly stands at 15.2 hands already.
This young lady was shown in a halter class as weanling and took second place in Hamilton, MT. It was an open show but there were some really nice babies in the class and she was the only one that went in without her mother.
Legacy has beautiful smooth movement and a big stride on her. She could excel at western or english pleasure but has enough speed and agility to do timed events like barrels, and poles as well. She has had regular health care, vaccinations, deworming, and farrier. Her ground work has consisted of tieing, leading, lungeing, round pen lessons, trailering, and sacking out.
Legacy was started under saddle in July and is doing very well, she stands good for her grooming and tacking up and will continue with her saddle training till sold or until added to the broodmare band. Legacy is going well now at the walk, trot and lope, she has a good stop on her and backs up real nice too. She has been rode indoors and just starting her outdoor rides now. We are very pleased with the progress she is making under saddle. With her build, and pedigree, she will also make an awesome addition to the broodmare band as well one day. We are only offering her for a limited time and if not sold before then she will join our broodmare band this coming spring. |
