This young quarter horse filly is a dark toned grullo with no white markings. We have given this young filly the barn name of Hickory. Hickory is a sassy filly who is very quick on her feet. Hickory is the smallest of the mares we own, and should finish at aprox 14.3 hands and aprox 925 pounds. She has good bone, is nicely balanced with a clean neck line, a nice top line with short back and low hocks.
Hickory has a power packed performance pedigree with proven cutting and working cow horses through out. She's out of a NCHA money earning dam, and is a Grandaughter of High Brow Hickory, Gr Grandaughter of Doc's Hickory, Dry Doc, Cody's Clone, and Organ Grinder with many other greats throughout her pedigree. Other names next line consisting of Doc Bar, Poco Lena, King Fritz, and Mr San Peppy to name a few. She is sure to have lots of cow with her breeding.
Hickory is quick to learn and takes new experiences very much in stride. She has had all the ground work done on her, tieing, leading, feet handling, trailering, sacking out, and also round pen lessons including lunging both on and off line, and ground driving. This young filly has an good disposition, and level head on her. Loves her people attention too. As of Feb, 2005 this fily weighs in at 800 pounds.
Hickory has been started under saddle as of June 2005, and is a very fluid mover. This filly has the speed to keep up with the big horses but the endurance to surpass them. Don't let her size fool ya this girl has stamina to burn. Hickory has been rode both indoors and out, she has been rode down the road, over bridges, railroad tracks, through trees, through water. She is accustom to dogs barking and running along side her, trains, tractors, quads, riding mowers and many other types of stimuli. Hickory will remain under saddle until she joins our broodmare band spring of 2006. |
