This handsome young fella is huge and will mature to aprox 15.2 to 16 hands. This is the first colt born out of our young junior stallion here at the ranch. He is out of two silver grullo parents so could possibly be homozygous for the dun and black gene or both. He will be a definate color producer. He's got blue eyes which are very brite right now but will darken to a deep navy color. He has bold leg markings,face masking, dorsal, ear tips and barring presently present. This handsome fella has no white markings at all and will be a silver grullo in color at maturity.
Big and gentle best describe this striking colt, he is out of one of my favorite mares here at the farm whom is not only a pleasure under saddle but whom has the most awesome disposition you could ask for. This fella will be a looker.
Sorry for the quality of the pictures I will take better ones when we get him and mom back out of the shelter as it is very hard to get body shots of the foals when I have them penned up under the shelter. However this is a first foal for this dam so we wanted to make sure they bonded well. She is being an awesome mom and is an excellent milker too. This young fella has the barn name of Skye. Pictured here at just a 4 hrs old.
